Foremost Shipping Services (FSS) was established in 1976 in Dubai as an inland transportation company catering to the transportation requirements of the parent company Great Circle Line. Over the years, due growth in the industry as well as in the Group, Foremost Shipping Services has branched out as an International Freight Forwarding and Shipping Agency on its own firm footing. The Great Circle Line Co. (GCL) which is the parent company of Foremost Shipping has been an established liner agency house since 1973 serving reputed principals such as Norasia Container Lines Ltd, the CSAV group in the liner trades. GCL also represents various bulk and tanker operators like Waterman Steamship Corporation, Central Gulf Lines and Tsakos Tankers to name a few. The development of Dubai as a regional Hub and distribution center created opportunities for conglomerates to diversify. The need for an International freight forwarding firm which could add value to the services of the parent company was felt within the GCL group, thus allowing Foremost Shipping Services to expand its scope of business and encompass all activities of freight forwarding and shipping agency into its own fold and have its own identity.
