Saigon Shipping Company was established in 1981 as a state-owned Company reporting to the People Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. In line with state-owned enterprises equitization in Vietnam since 1999, the Company was equitized in April 2004, and the name was changed to Saigon Shipping Joint Stock Company (SSC). Starting with just one 2500 DWT dry cargo vessel back in 1981, SSC fleet has been added with 5 more 1,800-4,500 DWT vessels, reefers and ro-ro ships, then steadily expanded to 14 vessels within 2 years. SSC's talented and dedicated team of directors, managers, office employees, crew officers and crew members have been undertaking tireless effort to search innovative ways to serve our esteemed domestic and international customers more effectively. Today, SSC has established its name as a leader in ship-owning, ship operating & managing, ship agency & freight forwarding as well as in warehousing, inland transportation and logistics services in Vietnam. SSC has head office in Ho Chi Minh City and five branch offices in Hai Phong, Da Nang, Qui Nhon, Vung Tau & Can Tho.
